We’re proud to feature Simone Santos, the beautiful and talented Portuguese actress and blogger. Santos’ charm and radiance show through in every photograph she takes, and her need to inspire others ranges from international fashion, to music and home decor. She shares her personal interests with us below. 

-What inspired you to start your blog?

I’ve always kept up with the blogosphere, I’ve always loved fashion and I ended up adding that to my education, in journalism. I really like writing and I wanted to create the blog so I could share with the world my vision about things that inspire me. And does inspire me? Everything! A wall, colours, textures, a lot of music, my mood. Pretty much everything.

-What’s your biggest tip for someone who wants to get into fashion industry?

That they be themselves. That they always stand up for their personalities. Being genuine and not letting ourselves be influenced by the masses is the key to success in this industry.

-How would you describe your own personal style?

I’m a classic woman, but my style ends up being versatile, because I can incorporate various types of clothes in this more classic style. I have an iconic and timeless style, with a hint of humor and irreverence. That is my essence. I like every day to be different because every day we wake up different, but my trademark every outfit is attempting to keep it classic.

-What are some of your current fashion obsessions?

That is a difficult question, due to the fact that I like everything I’ve been seeing around. However, I’ve been in love with the minimalist collections, the straighter cuts, the 60’s/70’s style, the patterns and fluid fabrics.

-What is one thing that people would be surprised to hear?

I’m a known actress in Portugal and I’ve done theatre and soap operas which were aired on national channels. I would leave my career as an actress to pursue a career as a blogger.

-Is there someone out there who inspires you fashion-wise?

I’ve always liked Olivia Palermo and Anine Bing very much.

-What is your favorite product from UsTrendy?

 It could take me days and days to pick, since there’s so much pretty stuff at UsTrendy, maybe I’d pick the Navy Blue Wrap Tie Dress, because it’s a classic and timeless piece. I find it beautiful.

-What trend do you hope stays around forever or makes a comeback? 

I’d really like it if black never went out of fashion. In my opinion, it’s a great ally of women.

-Where do you like to travel?

Thailand!

-What is the one thing you couldn’t live without?

Music!

-Did you go to school for fashion or it’s just a hobby that you got into?

I studied journalism. Yet, I’d like to study fashion and I’d like to be able to be a full-time blogger.
