What do you hope people take away from your blog?
I named my blog ‘A Courageous Beauty’ so that women can find their inner bravery and confidence with their personal style and beauty. Style is all about finding your inner self and worth and expressing that through your clothes. I want to help women build their confidence and self-esteem by how they look at themselves inwardly and outwardly. True beauty shines from within and once you feel secure in your inward beauty you can then feel confident about the outward beauty.
How would you define style?
I believe that style is all about truly knowing and loving yourself. It is an expression of who you are and your sense of self.
Is blogging your main job?
Blogging is definitely a full-time job in itself, however, I am also a stay-at-home mother and full-time nanny. My life is full of fashion and diapers right now. 😉
I am a HUGE Disney fan and my favorite inspirational quote comes from Walt Disney himself.“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”
This quote keeps me going when I have days where I just want to give up on my blogging dreams.
Courageous Beauty, any significance behind that?
It was named after my daughter, Bravely Belle, who’s name means just that. When deciding a name for my daughter, I wanted it to reflect the character and life I had hoped for her. I wanted Bravely Belle to be courageous in her faith, love, dreams, and hope. I want her inner beauty to shine out to others through her kindness and love.
Any favorite designers? Some you’ve worked with?
I absolutely love Ann Taylor. I have had the privilege of speaking at an event for them in the D.C. area and became an even bigger fan once I saw the diligence that goes into every piece. They put a lot of thought into their materials, fabrics, quality, and structures. I have much respect for them.
If you could go back in time and give yourself advice what would you say?
For fashion, I would tell my younger self to just be YOU. Don’t worry about trends. Don’t worry about other’s opinions. Just be yourself.
For blogging, I would say to never sell yourself short.
Where do you find your inspiration?
Tips for becoming a successful blogger?
Work hard and stay engaged. Blogging takes a lot of time, even more so then I had every anticipated. It is important to be engaged with your followers and other bloggers to create community and relationships.
