UsTrendy’s Trendsetters of the Week: Natalie Lucas

Natalie Lucas excels not only in the fashion world but also education. She stands proud with a dual degree having completed parts of her degrees at 5 different universities in 4 different countries around the world! This versitile, classy chick sticks to all black everything; pairing simple pieces with luxe accessories. Pick at her brain below!

How would you describe your own personal style?

My colour palette of choice features lots of blacks, whites, grey and neutrals, occasionally mixed in with a pop of seasonal colour. I love to splurge on accessories, often pairing a more simple, minimal outfit with some luxe accessories.

What’s a trend you hope makes a comeback/never goes out of style?

The bomber jacket. So easy and comfortable to wear, I some how ended up with way too many of these in my wardrobe this season!

Have you always had a strong passion for fashion?

When I was quite young growing up, I wouldn’t’ say so no. It wasn’t until I started doing some modelling late high school and then became a certified makeup artist that I became really interested in fashion and beauty.

Places you’ve traveled that you’d recommend? What’s next on the list?

Europe is definitely my favourite region to travel to as there’s such a variety of beautiful countries so close together to travel to. If you’re feeling adventurous (or are too unorganized to plan) just grab a Eurail pass and see what countries you feel like going to when you get there! I always love Prague, Paris, London and Barcelona.

Some upcoming fall must-haves?

I can’t get enough of loafers, white over-sized shirts and knits.

Staple piece in your closet that you’ll never get tired of?

A classic bag (my favourites are my Celine Mini Luggage and Proenza Schouler PS11), good pair of black jeans and a staple leather jacket.

What is your biggest tip for young women hoping to get into the fashion and media industry?

Get inspired and find your passion, whether this is blogging, styling or writing (or all of these!). I love looking to Instagram, Pinterest and magazines for inspiration. If you love creating content, Instagram is a great platform to enter the industry with and showcase your work.

Is blogging your only job/hobby? What else do you find yourself doing?

It’s not, no. Last year I finished a double degree in Commerce and Economics and work in the finance and accounting industry. I’m also now doing some postgraduate studies, so my week is always pretty packed!

Something your readers would be surprised to hear about you?

Probably the above! I also completed parts of my degrees at 5 different universities in 4 different countries around the world.
