How do you like Little Rock, Arkansas?

I have really enjoyed living in Little Rock. I was born and raised in Northwest Arkansas so this state holds a really special place in my heart. It may not be the most fashion forward place in the world to live, but the people make all the difference. Everyone here is happy and friendly, and Little Rock is definitely a place that lives up the the old “Southern Hospitably” saying. I think this area is a growing hub for upcoming attractions, too. It has really been fun watching my state and community develop over the last years. Although, I love my state, in the next couple months I will be making a big move to New York City to attend grad school.

Did you go to school for fashion?

I didn’t go to school for fashion. I actually received my bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. That being said, I have always had a love for putting outfits together and trying to see if I can make things work—even when they may seem a bit unconventional. I’m getting my graduate degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communication, but I hope this will lead to a corporate profession in the fashion world.

 What’re your passions?

Probably the thing I am most passionate about is people. I love spending time with my family and friends and making connections with people I meet. I am an ENFP so communication nearly fuels my life and drive. I am also a huge animal lover. I really think the more the merrier when it comes to pets! I am a huge fan of music. Something which has been ingrained since birth. I’m a huge classic rock and indie rock fan.

Where do you find your inspiration?

Honestly, I think I find most of my inspiration from my mom. She definitely has the best style of anyone I’ve ever known, and she has a true gift of putting things together. She always dressed me in the cutest baby and kids clothes I really had no choice but to enjoy style and fashion. To this day I trust her style opinion over anyone else’s, and I know I always will.

Hobbies? Other passions?

These would probably go hand-in-hand with my passions. Probably my favorite hobby would be traveling. Traveling is undoubtedly my favorite thing in the world to do. I love experiencing new places and cultures. A lot of my style inspiration even comes from seeing how people in other countries put things together. I also collect vinyl records as a hobby. I love nature and exploring. If I can get in the car with my friends and just drive and listen to music then it’ll always be a good day!🙂

A staple piece in your closet you where way too much?

I definitely wear my over-the-knee black boots WAY too much! I just can’t get away from them. I think they look good with nearly everything I put on. I’ve worn them so much they don’t even stay over the knee. I will definitely have to get a new pair before next fall! Second would be hats. One can never have too many!

How would you describe your own personal style?

I think typically my style leans a little more on the edgy side. I tend to lean more that direction naturally, but I love mixing different styles in. My closet really has such a wide range of looks, but I like it because it keeps things interesting for me!

A trend you hope makes a come-back or never goes away?

I really, really hope bell-sleeves never leave. If so, I’m going to be getting rid of 1/4th of my tops and dresses! I just think they are so fun!

Something your readers would be surprised to hear about you?

Hmm… This may be a little hard because I tend to be candid with my life. haha! When I was 14-years-old I traveled to Nigeria to help open a medical clinic in honor or my older brother who passed a way in an accident when I was 12. The clinic is located in an area that at the time had the least medical care per capita in the world. It was such an incredible experience to see how my family’s tragedy could somehow help others in need.

On a lighter note, I get ready in under 15 minutes every single day and use my fingers to put on my make-up. Definitely not as girly as most would probably assume!

Favorite quote?

My favorite quote would have to be the Bible verses Habakkuk 1:5 “Look among the nations; observe, wonder and be amazed. For I am doing something so great in your days you wouldn’t believe even if you were told.” It’s just a reminder to me that no matter the circumstance, and even when we feel like everything around us is crashing down, and we can’t see anything good coming God has something planned for us so wonderful that even if He told us we wouldn’t believe it.
