Any story behind your blog name, My Style Vita?

I’m half Italian and really wanted to use a word that reflected a part of my family history. So Vita means “life” in Italian and the idea behind My Style Vita, was quite literally, My Style Life. Style is in all parts of what we do not just from our outfits. From your personal sense of style, to how you style your hair to even how you decorate your home.

How would you describe your own personal style?

I’m definitely a casual person and like to be comfortable, but am always game for adding a little bit of trend and edge to my look whether with a fun shoe, or a trendy silhouette.

Favorite place you’ve traveled? What’s next on the list?

I think my favorite place I’ve ever traveled was Italy with my Dad and sister. It was incredible to see where our family came home and the history. It was my first overseas trip so I feel like I always compare everything to that place too. Next trips are San Francisco, Napa and Boston. I’ve never been to Boston and it’s actually been on my bucket list for years well before blogging. I’m excited to see this historic city.

How did you get into blogging?

I wanted to start a writing portfolio, which is quite funny since the writing I did when I first started consisted of two sentences and was absolutely horrible. I started to stumble onto actual blogs because I really didn’t know what they were at all, and noticed that sharing your outfits was a thing, and thought, well I can do that!

What do you hope readers take away from your blog?

That you should be confident in what you wear and that you don’t need to spend a ton of money to look and feel good. I definitely try to re-wear my favorite pieces time and time again.

Some hobbies?

I hate this question because it makes me sound so silly, but my blog is my hobby. It’s how it started and I’m very lucky that it’s now my full time job. I also enjoy recreating some of my favorite dishes from when I travel.

We love your “Date Night” and “Weekend Wear” sections on your blog – where do you find your inspiration/ stay so innovative?

I think traveling has actually helped with keeping me inspired. It’s hard to be inspired with so many blogs and so much content being put out there. I find that when I travel I tend to come up with my best ideas on posts or new series to feature. I think its being outside my comfort zone and experiencing new things that helps the most. Some of my most favorite cocktail posts from my blog were recreations of things I’ve enjoyed over the world.

What are some of your upcoming summer must-haves?

Great dresses and pretty tops. I’m a sucker for jeans and a tee and trying to force myself out of this habit to add more feminine pieces to my wardrobe.

Something your readers might not know about you?

That I actually don’t really like taking photos of myself. Its part of the world we’re in, but it’s the least favorite part of the blog for me. I most definitely prefer the writing and the business aspect of the blog more than anything.

What’s your favorite quote?

Travel is the antidote to ignorance. I think Trevor Noah said this in his recent comedy stand-up. I wish I had something more historic and impressive, but I think he nailed it on the head with that one. Experiencing other cultures, seeing how the rest of the world lives, helps to make you grow as a person in more ways than one.
