Trends obviously come and go, and each season offers up so many to choose from, it can be hard to decide which ones are worth investing in. But there are always standouts that we gravitate towards and obsess over more than others. These styles are the ones that become more than just gorgeous looks from the runway, diffuse into the real world, and become a part of our sartorial culture. Black Lace – Victorian frills got a sexy boudoir twist for fall, with all manner of tops, dresses, etc. revealing flashes of skin through dark webs of lace. Boyfriend Cardigan – The extra long cardigan is definitely starting to replace the oversized blazer as a choice layering piece. Limi Feu captured a brilliant lavender hue on the runway while Stewart Randolph is selling a cool mint green shade in the UsTrendy store, but any bright pop of color is a nice addition to any cold-weather outfit.
Fine and Dandy – Designers drew even more inspiration from menswear this season with a good deal of dapper jackets with a few feminine touches. Abaete’s runway look is certainly striking in its androgyny, but the girly ruffles on Alix Bonneau’s version in the UsTrendy store are just too darling to turn down!
