Here we go again ladies and gents. For years now i have been getting approached with this question " How much will it cost to design me something" at one point over five years ago, i almost undersold myself, because i was new in the fashion game ( still wet behind the ears ha ha.) but i was waylaid before i could begin production, for some reason i am glad i had that interference happen or This True Fashion Culprit movement would not exist today, but that's another topic in itself that will go into a book i plan on writing along with the magazine that we'll introduce in a few weeks, now back to the situation at hand. In any process, TIME IS MONEY, and in the industry no one wants there time wasted Understanding what quality is , is to appreciate the process in which the item was produced. Why is chicken less then a steak portion? why is a Chevy less then a Benz? We as American people would like to be paid for what we are worth.

How many of you at this stage in life would work for minimum wage? I don't know what the wage is in your state, but in Mn it's $7.25 per hr. The pressure's of friends and family wanting you to design them stuff just because you have the know how can be frustrating. Right now there are only two people who truly knows what goes into any piece produce; reason being is because they are right there with me when i begin the whole process of sketching, sourcing the fabric and other materials, creating the patterns, making the markers, checking for fit (which can be time consuming in itself) along with the sometime 14 plus hrs of continued work. It probably takes at least 3 to 5 fittings before the right is achieved, due to the many curves on a women. No women is alike when it comes to body types , and women are the biggest money spenders( sorry guys statistics!), but on the other hand guy clothing cost more( sorry ladies!) Women frequently undergo problems with fit, THEY MAY GET SOME JEENZ THAT FIT IN THIGHS BUT ARE TOO LOOSE IN THE WAIST OR THE OPPOSITE. Taller and shorter women tend to have the most problems, those problems can only be resolved by taking every women that lives in America measurements, and formulating them into working patterns, which guess what? will cost alot of money!

NO company is going to put all of that time and effort in just to satisfy every one that inhabits the U.S.A, it's entirely impossible do to the difference in opinion, taste in clothes, and so on. In the U.S there's over 300 million people, and believe me we are all different, sure some people like my stuff and then there are the people that think some of the stuff i produce is childish or NOT FOR GROWN ups which is B.S any person that thinks clothes build their character is a fool, with that being said my job is to satisfy those that are mt=y target market. Did you know if you had a collection or should i say a line coming out, that consisted of two dress style's, three blouses, a skirt, some jeenz, and shorts or capris, which is a total of 5 complete fits right?

Now within that same line you have 5 guy jeenz, 2 shirts, 1 jacket, 1 hoodie, and a muscle shirt lets say for now. Now within that same line you have 5 guy jeenz, 2 shirts, 1 jacket, 1 hoodie, and a muscle shirt lets say for now. For every design, you would have to get 1000 pieces produced for each design , so we have a total of 20 designs times 1000 pieces, which by the way would vary price depending on where you got them produced. Lets just say you got them produced, that would be 20, 000 pieces all varying in production cost. The items with the least amount of detail would be cheapest and the items with the most detail would be the most expensive. There's a misconception aboout how much product cost per piece when they are outsourced versus being produced here in the U.S, some believe that a garment is produced for 50 cents or a dollar per piece, in which they are wrong! Maybe that was the case years ago, but not anymore, International laws are enforced and there are strict penalties involved. Any company found in non compliance can and will be be fined a hefty fee, any where from 10,000 to 50,000 dollars, any way that's another story i would cover, but back to these #'s you these 20 garments and you have get a minimum of 20,000 pieces produced, here come the #'s. Let's say all of the denim products went for 15.00 to 25.00 each, shirts were 10 to 13 each, hoodies were 20.00 each, jackets were 25.00, the blouse's were 12.00 each and the 2 dress;'s were 25.00 each. How much is that? Let's do the ,math
15,000 just for the women bottoms
125.000 for the guy bottoms
60.000 for all of the shirts
20.000 for the hoodies
25.000 for the jackets
50.000 for the dress's
+_______________________
That's 295,000 dollars
which comes out of your pocket!

Continuation from part 2

Now no one works for free, and people offer services or products for a fee so a profit can be made. Now get your pencils and pads ready, shipping cost, tariffs, insurance, plus deadlines must be met, so what would you charge per item? Did you have the clientele that would support your movement?, Were you local? Did only your friends and family know about you? How are you going to get your product off? Did you hire a representative to showcase your line at trade shows? Come on now people work with me people, what did you do?

Now that's the industry version, what about someone who is in the process of finding there target market, sourcing there own material, basicly doing everything from a to z from there own house, It's a whole set of rules that apply now, for example you approach me to make you a jacket and some jeenz to match, right away you want to know how much? and how long will it take right? So i tell you to sit down with me as i create a spec sheet, which covers all of the information about the garment and it's cost, but the labor question is still unanswered, so i tell you a few days. What do you think the price would be or should be?
$60.00
$75.00
$110.00
$200.00
And what if i said $400.00 would you pay or would you walk away? Those that walk away was never my target market to begin with, they just wanted something different for cheap, and the person who that paid understood fully what my time was worth, now here's the math, a jacket and some jeenz that's heavily detailed, the fabric itself may run you anywhere from 5.99 to 20.00 per yard and you need 4 yards for the jacket and jeenz, that's 60.00, now we need zippers, buttons matching thread( not just any thread but top stitch thread and you may have one or more colors) wells that about 20.00, now i begin production o your garment, it takes me 6hrs each day for 4 days to complete your fit, due to school, my job, schoolwork, and so on. i paid my self minimum wage per hr $5.50 times it by 24( which i will not put in that much work just to make someone else something and it's not fully benefiting me) now just paying myself the minimum wage per hr is $132.00, the materials were $80.00, that's a total of $212.00 - 80.00 that cam,e out of my pocket
should i be paid more or less, How much more? How much less?

I'll leave that question open for discussion!

My unique style of fashion is based on futuristic thinking and is distinct for men and women. The main focus is changing up what you see in fashion today. My definition of fashion is not based on traditional style, so everything I create will be exclusive and eye catching.

All of my designs are carefully selected from a batch of technical drawings that I continue to add to weekly, I add liveliness and fun to my product, because according to traditional thinking at a certain age, you are suppose to become dull and boring. Well I am here to tell those that like dull and boring, my clothes will not be suitable for you, but if you enjoy life and like to catch eyes, my clothes will suit you well.

Questions have come about whether fashion is moving forward or is it at a stand still, I believe as a fashion and graphic designer your work should be symbolic of yourself. Fashion is art, there are different ways of looking at a picture, and I want to share my art with you, and break the status quo that's in fashion today.

Browse my page, Checkout my portfolio. I am are looking forward to working with photographers, make-up artist, models, hair stylist, and more. I believe success come in small steps, and that networking is a powerful tool, and I am willing to network as much as possible. I am only in the process of developing this clothing line, and nothing is for sale yet, all of the garments are prototypes and custom made.

All collaborations at the moment will be based on TFCD, the reason for this is i am still a students, nothing is being funded and I am not getting paid from my designs, so therefore i am not in a position where I can pay others. I am what you call "a college student who attend school more hours then I work, and believe that my hard work will pay off in the end", so therefore prospering off of my ideas is irrelevant as of now, because through my struggles, it gets greater later, but until then I am going to bring you fit after fit and keep you intrigued with what I am doing. Those who are looking to get paid, I wish you much success with your endeavors.

I am a student of the game, and business is to be taken care of not talked about, and that's what I am doing. My style is more then what your eyes can conceive at the moment, but if you delve deeper, you will see that I have put a lot of time and effort into this, and the thought of quick money is not apart of my plan. I am glad to present you with this new fashion movement, and I hope you enjoy, and appreciate the art I bring to the table. I will try to keep my pictures updated at least four times a year, but sometimes my schooling takes precedent over my business ventures, other then that, feel free to browse, leave comments, and introduce yourself, thanks in advance.

P.S. I also do photo retouching, and graphic design work on images.
