I'm all giddy. I'm gonna show some art...to the public.
New Work...New Show...
November 15, 2008 at 07:14 PM
So, I'm going to have to assume that it's totally forgiveable to neglect one's site here if it was because one was working, yes?
That's just what I've been doing. I have four new pieces (well, three...the first one was already on here) set to go for a show I'll be participating in this December. The show's theme is Darkness, and despite my desire to do "Firefly in a Dark Cave" (the antithesis of ground-breaking Polar Bear in a Snowstorm), I came up with something a touch more substantial...compositionally anyway.
I'll post more info on the show for anyone who might like to come and take a look...and once the meager amount of mystery I've drummed up over the work has dissipated, I'll post more images on here.
Cheers.
It LIVES...Again!!

I've been kicking it around for some time. I've gotten a few entries ready, just so I can hopefully stay ahead of the curve for a bit. However, as these are all, more or less, more than a page, I'm going to be knocking back delivery to 3 days a week. Right now, I'm thinking Monday-Wednesday-Friday. (If this was all I did, I could probably do more, but with actual *paying* jobs and some art stuff, I gotta fit this in when I can.)
Come Monday, September 8th....check in at: http://friendsofjunior.blogspot.com/
Uh...

I'm sketchin'...I'm sketchin'...
Good news for me, I've been asked to submit a few more things for a show in December. So...I...uh...should probably start to paint those things.
Also, for the first time in a long time, I've been able to pick up a few new art books. Sometimes I forget how inspiring it can be to just look at some great work (and sometimes to read the accompanying story behind it). That may seem stupid...but I really lose track of the need to just sit down and take a gander at the masters or what-have-you.
But...you know...not so much windowgazin' that you forget to actually do the work...I can be pretty bad about that too.
Cheers.
Show, Set and Match
July 08, 2008 at 12:40 PM
Well, my first show came and went. Fortunately for me, I ended up with two pieces in it rather than just the one. And while the piece did not grow green paper legs with which to walk out on (it's now sitting here next to me), I was invited to show again in the next go around...and encouraged to throw up a few more pieces. Sounds like a bargain to me. Now between getting my job done and submitting my book to publishers, I'm gonna have to find the time to paint those pieces. We shall see. I'll throw them up on here too, naturally....heck, I need to get some more stuff on here....I'm workin' on it!
Cheers.
