About the Seller

High fashion, simple & structured, little black dresses- Ramona Rusu. M.B.D. designs are sure to have a women feeling feminine and poised. Each piece's detail, pleats, and unique shapes, give a little extra indie style to a classic LBD.

What is your inspiration for this collection?

My creations are usually inspired by the world of art and myself, so every phase I go through is strongly reflected in my work. These particular pieces are inspired by the eternal L.B.D. and the minimal art- a combination that was very eloquent for my own identity at that time. The evening dress is inspired by the natural shadows of a women's body and was showcased at Miami International Fashion Week 2010 among the five finalists of the Fashion Design Student Competition.

Education/Experience:

At the moment, I am attending a Fashion MA course at U.A.D. in Romania. I also studied Fine Arts, focusing on Graphics and that is highly visible in my designs and also in my fashion illustrations.

What has prepared you to enter the world as a Fashion Designer?

There's no such thing as being prepared for the fashion world. I believe that nothing prepares you for it...you just go ahead and enter and hope/know that you are talented enough, intelligent enough and most of all strong and ambitious enough to survive it and to remain yourself! On the other side, I don't consider that I have entered the real fashion world yet.

You'd never be caught dead wearing:

...nothing

One thing you couldn't live without:

Except food and all the rest present in a normal survival kit, I couldn't live without paper and a pen to organize my future projects and sketch my ideas. After that, my laptop is runner up to the "can't live without" title.

Perfect night on the town outfit:

Anything that fits my mood at that moment and that makes me feel...myself.

What is your favorite part about being a Fashion Designer?

My favorite part of them all is that I get to express myself through my artwork (designs of fashion illustrations) and that the field gives me a certain freedom that only creative jobs can offer. I couldn't imagine spending my life in an office and doing rigid stuff that imply no creativity.
