Education/Experience:
I studied for my fashion degree at the University of Westminster in London. I have worked for Roland Mouret, Armani Exchange and Luella. I’ve also had experience in PR and buying and feel this gives me a bit understanding of the industry as a whole.
What drove you to choose fashion design and specifically starting your own design?
When I was younger i was always fascinated by dresses and art. It just kind off happened, like I was meant to be in fashion. Im also obsessed with shopping so I can get to create my dreams.
What has prepared you to enter the world as a fashion designer?
Strong experience, alot of passion and a backbone!
What has been your biggest struggle breaking into the world as an independent fashion designer?
I think just getting the brand out there and finding the right people to represent you. It’s a tough time for everyone at the moment but if you have the right product you can survive.
Describe your style:
Innovative, Classy and Unique.
Your 3 wardrobe staples:
Strappy cut-out Body Con, Elegant bright Cocktail Dress and Vintage silk tunic dress.
Favorite fashion decade:
A combination of trends from the late 60’s, so bright block colours, polka dots and bold eclectic prints!
What are you most excited to wear this season?
Our Bolt Tee- Navy jersey slash crop top, featuring a silver sequin lightning bolt goes great with denim Skinnies or Jeggings.
You'd never be caught dead wearing:
Bright Pink tweed Capri trousers, because they’re dated, uncomfortable and extremely unflattering.
One thing you couldn't live without:
Chocolate
Favorite Celebrity Fashion Icon:
Most definitely Leighton Meester, her style is fun, flirty and sophisticated.
What fad would you bring back?
Fur coats because they are a key winter statement!
Perfect night on the town outfit:
Flirty fierce Body-con, with Killer platforms, matching clutch finished off with pretty accessories.
What are other activities you enjoy doing besides designing?
I enjoy spending time with friends and family, cooking big meals for them! Also going to the cinema watching chic flics and having cocktails with the girls.
What do you wish people understood about being in the fashion industry?
That it takes a lot of dedication, passion, hard work to develop and finish one single garment: it’s not all glam and fashion shows.
What is some advice that you would give to aspiring independent designers?
Persistence is vital as well as determination, hard work pays off. Be creative, expand on your ideas and chase your dream.
What is your favorite part about being a Fashion Designer?
I get to express my ideas and creativity in what I am most passionate about- clothing then see my ideas come to life and watch people enjoying wearing them.
