What is your inspiration for the items that you carry in your boutique?
Just under a year ago when we launched Tilly Boutique we started with what I would call a classic-chic style but we are moving more towards an effortless-chic vibe which I would say has been influenced by street style. I love sitting and watching girls go by and consuming all the different styles and interpretations of fashion. I am also inspired by the great fashion bloggers out there, my favorites being SincerelyJules, Sterling Style, Beth Jones Style, SeeAnnaJane and 9to5chic. These ladies really know how to dress!

What motivated you to open your boutique?
I have always wanted to run my own business and have the opportunity to work with products I love. After moving to Chicago from London in September 2010, I decided to take a leap and make my dreams a reality. Seeing how something as simple as clothes can give women such confidence and energy keeps me motivated.
What has been your biggest struggle as a boutique owner?
Honestly, getting the word out there about Tilly Boutique. As a small business this is a challenge but on the positive side you learn how to be creative with what you have and make it work for you.
What does your boutique say about your style?
It says I have a varied style, mixing classic with urban influences. It also shows how my style is constantly evolving.
Your 3 wardrobe staples:
1. A colorful tailored jacket to add a pop of color.
2. The perfect pair of skinny jeans. Boring but true!
3. Bracelets. There is so much choice out there and I love mixing different shapes and sizes to wear together.
What are you most excited to wear this season?
In Winter I always take the opportunity to try lots of different hats beanies, berets, ear warmer headbands and my all-time favorite fedoras.
One thing you couldn't live without:
My vintage Chanel bag and my husband of course!
Favorite Celebrity Fashion Icon:
Alexa Chung. She can do no wrong in my eyes.
What is your favorite part about being a boutique owner?
Why the clothes of course! I love getting new pieces in and experimenting with different looks. I used to buy one of everything but as we continue to grow this is getting a little impossible! I also love making my own decisions, my own mistakes and learning every day.
