About the Seller

Frank & Stein designs are made with you in mind.  Everything from their "Red Carpet Collection" to the "Swimming with Sharks Collection" there is something for everyone.   Combining originality, defiance, entertainment, and their love of graphic design.

What is your inspiration for designs that are being featured?

Everything that surrounds us is potential material for us to use. What we try to do is to find points in common in many events, feelings or concepts and then put them together under a main theme. In each collection we tell different stories, each one somehow related to that main theme. But more than the theme itself is the way we explore it: we always try to find a different approach, preferably a funny, unusual one. Our goal is to make people smile when they find the twist we always put in our work.

What drove you to choose fashion design and specifically starting your own design?

Actually we’re not fashion designers. We’re graphic designers who decided to use fabrics instead of paper to print what we create and like.

This idea of using different materials and explore new possibilities (not only clothes but many more things in the near future) is what lead us to create our own brand and designs.

What has prepared you to enter the world as a fashion designer?

Working in Communication – we both have worked in design and advertising agencies. So, above all, we want to communicate and for that we use concepts, design, words, materials, whatever!

What has been your biggest struggle breaking into the world as an independent fashion designer?

It’s exactly the fact that we’re not fashion designers. And for that reason we often don’t speak the same language that the industry uses. This forces us to double the effort of explaining what we want and at the same time to learn better what and how we should be saying it. Everyday we learn something new – and that’s cool!

Describe your style:

Fashion, fun and graphics.

What are you most excited to wear this season?

Fun and happy clothes, to face the cold and clouds of the winter season.

You'd never be caught dead wearing:

Formal, gray, dull business suits.

What fad would you bring back?

None, a new silly fad has much more fun potential than reviving old ones!

Perfect night on the town outfit:

Anything that will let you dance like there is no tomorrow.

What are other activities you enjoy doing besides designing?

We love everything that makes life worthwile living. And this includes music, movies, art, tv, traveling, of course; but also friends, family, love, friendship, laughing, crying, and so on.

What do you wish people understood about being in the fashion industry?

It’s not easy, but it’s not impossible!

What is some advice that you would give to aspiring independent designers?

If you believe in it, go for it!

What is your favorite part about being a fashion designer?

It’s knowing that although you’re not a fashion designer you’re professional enough to be able to design simple fashion pieces.
