What is your inspiration for this collection?
Our inspiration comes from everywhere - with a desire to make a girl sparkle with casual glamour, we love searching for gorgeous fabrics, spending endless hours in our studio, creating styles to make you stand out from the crowd - no mass production here !!
Myself and my partner (Darren Pennington) created yapyap in 2009 - Darren comes from an art/fashion background and I have worked in the fashion idustry occupying many roles over the past 10 years.
What is your biggest struggle as an independent designer?
Our biggest struggle in breaking into the fashion industry has been competing with cheap mass production.

Do you do any other activities besides design?
We appreciate art and have recently visited the Tracey Emin exhibition at the Heywood Gallery London. We have broad musical tastes from Edith Piaf to Rihanna.
What is your favorite part about being a fashion designer?
Our favourite part of being a fashion designer is seeing someone in our clothes, looking and feeling amazing.
