What is your inspiration for this collection?

I find inspiration in music, film, art, haute couture, costumes, and photography. Andy Warhol is a big influence, I love Madonna, Helmut Newton changed the fashion editorial forever, and Dolce and Gabbana continue to inspire. I find a bold, defined, striking silhouette attractive on every woman. Bombshells of the past like Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, and Elizabeth Taylor are a joy to look at and feel fresh, even now. I keep coming back to the same themes a lot: fantasy, cocktail parties, the disco era,  contrasts, symbols, romance, and whimsy.

What has prepared you to enter the world as a fashion designer?

Since being a very young child I have been in love with fashion. I feel like I have been researching the industry since I was 11! I went to college for visual art with photography as a focus, and I feel like those parts of my education prepared me to be very critical of balance, color, and presentation. My real preparation has been my drive to succeed coupled with a very defined vision :-)

Favorite Fashion Decade:

That's a hard one, because I find inspiration from so many eras of the past. The roaring 20's, mid 50's and late 70's early 80's.

So hard... Gwen Stefani, Chloe Sevigny, Kate Moss, Madonna

Perfect night on the town outfit:

Mini bandage dress (with bustier underneath), short fur coat (faux), alexander mcqueen clutch, fenton/fallon jewelry (lots), Christian Louboutin heels in hot pink!

What other activities do you enjoy besides design?

I love making collage art, riding horses, walks with my family, swimming, dancing, reading a really inspiring interview, listening to music, traveling, and a trip to the farmers market.

What is your favorite part about being a Fashion Designer?

I love that I can set my own hours, work from home, satisfy my creativity, and have complete control over the final product!
