What is your inspiration for your designs?
We are constantly inspired by high end trends seen at international Fashion Weeks, as well as by our personal interests at the time and our surroundings.
What drove you to choose fashion design and specifically starting your own design?
We combined our two favourite interests/backgrounds (fashion and business) to create our Sabo Skirt label.
What has prepared you to enter the world as a fashion designer?
We found that our experience during blogging prepared us for the intensity of the fashion industry.
Describe your style:
Our style (which is transferred to our designs) can be summed up in 2 words: effortless and intricate.
Your 3 wardrobe staples:
At the moment, we cannot live without ankle boots, ripped denim jeans and strappy, under garment bralettes.
Favorite fashion decade:
Our current favourite fashion decade would have to be the 70s. We are so in love with long jumpsuits, chevron stripes and floppy hats that are all 70s inspired pieces.
What are you most excited to wear this season?
We are loving the sports luxe trend! It is so comfortable and paired with the right pieces, so chic at the same time!
You’d never be caught dead wearing:
Leggings as pants. This simply should not be done!
One thing you couldn’t live without:
We cannot live without our gold Michael Kors watch.
Favorite Celebrity Fashion Icon:
Our favourite celebrity fashion icons would have to be the Olsen twins for their vintage, chic style and Rumi Neely for her effortless mix of monochrome pieces.
Perfect night on the town outfit:
We are loving the simplicity of printed tees worn with asymmetric leather skirts and heeled ankle boots for a night out.
What are other activities you enjoy doing besides designing (art, music, etc)?
We really enjoy singing while playing the guitar and piano.
What do you wish people understood about being in the fashion industry?
There is a lot of work and skill that goes on behind the scenes in the fashion industry. The road to success in the fashion industry is not as simple as people assume and takes a lot of time and dedication to achieve.
What is some advice that you would give to aspiring independent designers?
If you truly want to succeed in the industry you have to be prepared to work extremely hard for it.
What is your favorite part about being a Fashion Designer?
Our favourite part of owning our own fashion label would have to be sharing our most loved fashion ideas and pieces with our amazing customers!
